Massachusetts State Leadership Conference

Each spring, prior to the end of the academic year, members and advisers from all chapters in the Commonwealth are invited to the State Leadership Conference. The highlights of this one-day event include professional development workshops, awards, and networking with other chapters and local businesspeople. Additionally, members have the opportunity to participate in several competitive events, and top finalists in each event will be eligible to compete at the National Leadership Conference.

National Leadership Conference & Institute for Leaders

FBLA members have the competitive edge, as the best and brightest of FBLA convene to compete in leadership events, share their successes, and learn new ideas about shaping their career future through workshops and exhibits. This four-day conference — held each year in June — is considered the pinnacle of the FBLA experience, especially for those running for national office. FBLA has forged partnerships with industry leaders to underwrite competitive events and scholarships for students achieving national ranking.

Held in conjunction with the National Leadership Conference (NLC), the Institute for Leaders (IFL) is an optional, high-energy, intensive, two-day seminar focused-leadership experience for state and local chapter officers, as well as members and advisers. This training conference prepares student leaders and members to assume their elected responsibilities and develop valuable life skills.

The high school division IFL is held on June 27–June 28, prior to the NLC on June 29–July 2. The collegiate division IFL is held on June 23-24, prior to the NLC on June 24–27.

The location of these events rotates each year, visiting large cities throughout the country. Upcoming cities are:

  • 2019: San Antonio, Texas
  • 2020: Salt Lake City, Utah
  • 2021: Anaheim, California
